I am new to Portland, and took a break from working in a school after to be "full-time Papa" to my three young, very energetic children. Most of my time and energy is spent raising, playing, caring for, and exploring with them. I *used* to love to travel! These days I mostly get to experience a similar thrill through combining my love of reading with a passion for cooking to explore new cuisines and cultures.
Experience
I have been a professional teacher since I was 18 years old! Much of my experience includes working one-on-one with students. In my twenty years of teaching, I've taught many different subjects in diverse settings, and worked with students ranging in age from Pre-K to seniors in high school. Most of my teaching took place in and around New York City - it was exciting to get to work with people from so many diverse backgrounds. I feel comfortable and competent working with most students in most subjects!
