I like to create and organize. In my free time I often work on creative projects of all sorts where I can teach myself a new skill. I think we live in an exceptional time where information is at our finger tips and I enjoy taking advantage of that. Most days I take the time to write, practice gratitude and learn new vegetarian dishes.
Experience
While getting my BA in sociology I nannied for a family. I often helped with homework, cooked meals and planned activities that were both fun and educational. I spent the summer of 2019 volunteering at Write Around Portland where I scribed for individuals at an assisted living facility. We would go through writing prompts and I would help them express either their memories or fiction pieces that they wanted to create. I have always gravitated toward positions where I was able to work one on one with people. It’s what I enjoy. My favorite position was working as a craft instructor. I helped individuals learn how to use tools and encouraged both adults and children.
