A former homeschooler from Kansas City, I obtained a degree in Philosophy from Thomas Aquinas College in 2004. I moved to New York to work in magazines and media, before transitioning to event planning in 2009. I have worked with the No Child Left Behind Program. My SAT II Writing score is 800.
Experience
As someone who was homeschooled, I'm familiar with the challenges that can arise when self-teaching. I am also keyed into the many benefits, including going at one's own pace, privacy, and teaching styles tailored to each child's unique abilities and curiosities. (I also find that homeschooling allows for better snacks.) I have helped tutor several homeschooling families with children ages two to 16.
