Hello! My name is Shaina and I recently moved to Longmont, CO. I spend most of my free time adventuring outdoors or reading a good book on the couch with my cat. I am a published freelance writer and love all things literary.
Experience
I have worked in education for over a decade. In 2014 I received a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado as well as a Colorado Secondary English Language Arts teaching license. I spent the last six years working as a middle and high school English teacher, including teaching AP courses and working with students with learning disabilities. I am passionate about helping students hone their skills as readers and develop their unique voices as writers. In addition to tutoring in reading and writing, I am skilled at helping students stay organized and motivated, particularly in the context of online learning. Older students may be interested in SAT and AP prep or in help with college applications and essays.
