Hi, my name is Maddie! My professional passion is teaching and education, however, My favorite thing to do in my free time is spend time outdoors. I love to hike, camp, and visit the beach.
Experience
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology before recently obtaining my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in May. Throughout my program, I had the opportunity to spend many hours in a mainstream classroom. I spent my first 6 months student teaching in a 5th grade classroom. During the second 6 months, I worked with 1st graders, both in-person and online with distance learning. During this time, I became familiar with many online learning platforms such as GoogleClassroom, Zoom, and Seesaw. This experience with distance learning made me feel comfortable and confident working from any environment. After working with a wide range of ages, I developed the skills and tools necessary to teach any subject across grade levels. I have found that I mostly enjoy ELA lessons that make reading and writing fun and elicit creativity. Along the way, I discovered a new found love for math and feel very confident in my ability to teach the basic foundations as well as providing extra support to students who need it.
