For almost 20 years, I have worked with various organizations and cultural institutions to create out-of-school learning programs to provide elementary-aged children with academic support and fun experiences that enhance their learning skills. I have several hobbies. My favorite ones are gardening and bird-watching because I love being outside in nature. I love to cook and try new recipes. I practice yoga regularly. I play piano and sing with a community choir. I'm originally from a small town in western Pennsylvania where I grew up with lots of nature around me. I've always loved studying the science of nature, but I also love studying art and human cultures, plus I really enjoy learning music and history. After college, I taught English to elementary and high school students in Vienna Austria. I graduated from Teachers College in New York City, with a MA in education.
Experience
I worked as an after-school tutor for several organizations in NYC, and had a private client who I tutored specifically in 5th grade math. In college and graduate school, I completed courses in Calculus, Physics and Statistics, and my internship work involved regular research data analysis.
